About Us
approach • philosophy • values
Imagining an Otherwise came out of the power of co-creation, friendship, and trust. Informed by lived experience, a curiosity ethic, and (as coined by the brilliant bell hooks) a love ethic. With a strong belief in abolishing the carceral values that tear our communities apart and uphold colonial and capitalist systems of oppression, our practice is led by love and trust in our collective ability to grow and care for one another.

Together and individually, we have nurtured the creation of intersectional, inclusive, and accessible community-engaged spaces in which folks can learn, grow, and have fulfilling experiences. Centring a decolonial approach to sharing stories and knowledges, our programs and offerings are designed with co-creation and liberation in mind.
